A Second Life Machinima by Robbie Dingo.
(Duration 4'17")
"Frameless heads on nameless walls, with eyes
that watch the world and can't forget - like
the strangers that you've met". [Don
McLean].
Ever looked at your favorite painting and
wished you could wander inside, to look at it
from different perspectives? Spend a single
day in one of mine, from early sunrise on a
new day, to dusk when lights come on in cosy
homes; through a peaceful night, till
morning.
Shot on location in Second Life then
post-produced, this was an idea I had a while
ago. The Sim in this work was on temporary
loan so it's all been swept away now, leaving
only the film behind. It was always intended
however that the video would be the end
product, not the build.
This work is dedicated to the many weird and
very wonderful strangers from around the
globe I have met, but have never really met.

We know you want the numbers and we're not
going to waste your time. Neither is Nissan.
Its 2009 GT-R hits 60 mph in 3.3 seconds,
quicker than the last Dodge Viper, Corvette
Z06 and Porsche 911 Turbo we tested. Keep
your foot pinned, and after another tap on
the upshift paddle it will clear the
quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds at more than 120
mph. Tags : Edmunds Skyline Car Auto Driving 2009 Nissan GTR Full Test |

| Video explains the world's most important 6-sec drum loop |
 |
This fascinating, brilliant 20-minute video
narrates the history of the "Amen Break," a
six-second drum sample from the b-side of a
chart-topping single from 1969. This sample
was used extensively in early hiphop and
sample-based music, and became the basis for
drum-and-bass and jungle music -- a
six-second clip that spawned several entire
subcultures. Nate Harrison's 2004 video is a
meditation on the ownership of culture, the
nature of art and creativity, and the history
of a remarkable music clip. Tags : Amen break nate harrison jungle |

Google Tech Talks
July 11, 2007
ABSTRACT
The Net is the global network, which enables
users worldwide to interact with information.
As new technologies mature, the functions of
the protocols deepen, moving closer to
cyberspace visions of "being one with all the
world's knowledge". The Evolution of the Net
has already proceeded from data transmission
in the Internet to information retrieval in
the Web. The global protocols are evolving
towards knowledge navigation in the
Interspace, moving from syntax to semantics.
In the future, infrastructure will support
analysis, for interactive correlations across
knowledge sources. This moves closer towards
"telesophy", (transparent infrastructure
