Sak Pasé
From its monumental revolution and
establishment as the first free Black nation
in the Western Hemisphere, to its current
crisis, Sak Pasé is a cry for liberty and
freedom for a nation that has contributed so
much to the world; Haiti. The song is
played in Cuban Cha Cha Cha with a touch of
Hip Hop, with usage of Haitian Creole. Some
terms used are Sak Pasé, Nap Bulé, Liberté
a Ayiti translated to What's up/Burning or
I'm hot/Emancipate Haiti, respectively. Also
mentioned is Bwa Kayman, the spiritual site
in Haiti where Vodou Priest, Boukman held the
ceremony that started the revolution in the
1790's, which is still inspiring ideas of
freedom and revolution in the minds of
millions around the world.

When Republican governor and possible John
McCain Vice Presidential running mate Bobby
Jindal came out in favor of teaching
"Intelligent Design" in Louisiana's science
classrooms on CBS's "Face The Nation" last
Sunday, it reminded me of John McCain's
similar nonsensical position on teaching
"Intelligent Design" which I criticize using
clips from biologist Kenneth Miller appearing
this last week with Stephen Colbert and on
NPR.

Obama paid ACORN, which has endorsed him for
president, $800,000 to register new voters,
payments his campaign failed to accurately
report. (They were disguised in his FEC
disclosure as payments to a front group
called Citizen Services Inc. for advance
work.)
Whats more, Obama worked as executive
director of ACORNs voter-registration arm,
Project Vote, in 1992. Joined by two other
community organizers on Chicagos South Side,
Obama conducted the voter-registration drive
that helped elect Carol Moseley-Braun to the
Senate that year.
The next year, 1993, Obama joined the
civil-rights law firm Davis Miner Barnhill &
Galland, where he sued the state of Illinois
on behalf of ACORN to implement the federal
Motor Voter law, which the GOP governor at
the time refused to do. Then-Gov. Jim Edgar
argued, presciently, that the Clinton law
would invite voter fraud.
Obama downplays his ties to ACORN, and his
campaign denies coordinating with ACORN to
register voters.
After Walter Annenbergs foundation offered
several hundred million dollars to American
public schools in the mid-90s, William Ayers
applied for $50 million for Chicago. The
purpose of his application was to secure
funds to raise political consciousness in
Chicagos public schools. After he won the
grant, Ayerss group chose Barack Obama to
distribute the money. Between 1995 and 1999,
Obama distributed the $50 million and raised
another $60 million from other civic groups
to augment it. In doing so, he was following
Ayerss admonition to grant the funds to
external organizations, like American
Community Organizations for Reform
