| Reenactment #24: Pan's Labyrinth |
 |
The 24th of my Reenactment Series.
Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about
Reservoir Dogs. I just thought this was too
good not to do. Very short, but sweet.
I don't speak Spanish, btw. It took a million
times going over the Spanish subtitles in
this video to get it right.
In this scene from Pan's Labyrinth, a young
girl has been given three tasks to do by a
mysterious faun. During the second task, she
broke one of the rules, and the faun gets
pissed.
I can't really explain the plot very well,
you have to see this. I figured most of you
have since this is pretty much the most
mainstream foreign film. It won three Academy
Awards... it deserves them too. Tags : brandon hardesty artietsmitw reenactment pan's labyrinth laberinto fauno spanish mexico foreign film |

| Reenactment #18: Jurassic Park |
 |
The Eighteenth of my Re-Enactment Series.
The only reason I did this video: Jeff
"Freaking" Goldblum. My friends and I sat up
all night doing Jeff Goldblum impersonations,
ending each sentence with "and, and, if...
and, well, thereitis." I have a hunch that
when he gets a script, he adds a comma after
90% of the words in all of his lines.
"I'm just saying that, uh, uh, life, uh,
finds, a way."
I concentrated on Jeff Goldblum... my
impersonation of the other four characters
may not be up to par.
I have A Few Good Men in my possession...
maybe this week. Tags : jurassic park jeff goldblum brandon hardesty artietsmitw |

| Reenactment #26: Pulp Fiction [Request #1 of List #1] |

The 26th of my Reenactment Series.
Here it is. Finally.
I didn't get it in before Monday... hence, I
didn't leap. Looks like I'm stuck here...
dammit.
(Quantum Leap references out of the way...)
I KNEW some of you guys would be
disappointed. It's such a great scene, and
you've been waiting a long time for it. I'm
hearing the same complaints: Bangs were
distracting, didn't like the hair, too
comical and not serious.
1. I put the "Bangs" in because I thought
they were hilarious. I giggled to myself in
the glow of my laptop for 5 minutes making
that "Bang" montage in the end.
2. I like how you guys think the beard was
distracting, and yet the floral quilt hanging
in the background, the continuity errors, and
even the accidental inclusion of my laptop in
one of the takes weren't distracting at all.
Again, I just thought the beard was funny.
3. I could never pull off Samuel L. Jackson.
He's too badass, especially in this scene.
When I can't get someone's mannerisms, I go
for a comic portrayal to redeem myself.
Sometimes it works and you guys never notice.
Other times...
All in all, I was sort of happy with this. It
may not be a milestone for what probably will
be my last reenactment, but I didn't expect
it to.
It's hard to say whether or not I'll do
anymore reenactments. I want to move on...
there are a lot of things happening in the
next few months for me, and I have to
concentrate on them. That isn't to say I
won't be uploading any more videos, but they
may be few and far between from now on.
I'm still here. I just don't know for how
long... (and no, I'm not dying) Tags : pulp fiction reenactment artietsmitw brandon hardesty samuel jackson john travolta ezekiel 25:17 |
