Parents and children have been scared by the
media because of the constant repetition of
the Madeleine McCann abduction story.
This awful situation with Madeleine McCann
and her family is being used to encourage
such fear, and even to encourage parents to
want to microchip their children for their
own peace of mind.

| Senator McCain Fear Mongering When All Else Fails |

July 28, 2008. WHYNotnews. About a year ago,
with his campaign in the toilet, Senator John
McCain dusted off the old trusty Osama Bin
Laden scare rhetoric that has worked so well
for his long time
nemesis-turned-spiritual-mentor, George W.
Bush and—bingo!—he shot to the front of
the pack. A year later, he's forgotten just
which "surge" is working, there are fewer
than a dozen western photographers in all of
Iraq to check the veracity of the Senator'
asssertions, and those who challenge the
blithe, official happy talk—by the same
military that brought us the Pat Tillman and
Jessica Lynch stories—are being expelled.
But for Code Pink, Sen. McCain may have
gotten away with it again at ABC's 'This Week
with George Stephanopoulos." It was outside
his appearance on the program that WNN
captured this footage of McCain at the
Washington Stakeout, a weekly attempt by
small and independent media to engage
policymakers by setting up ambushes where
they think the show's guests will exit the
building. With any ambush, sometimes you eats
the bear—sometimes the bear eats you.
Now, with Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama
talking east while walking west in a robust
impersonation of Teddy Roosevelt, Joe Louis,
and John Wayne so there is no doubt the
Illinoian is way to the right of McCain,
we'll have to hold our breath and hope that
nothing untoward happens anywhere in the US
any time in the next 6 months that can be
construed as being a 'terror attack,' or
we'll all be pining for the good ol' days of
the Gulag.
Some observers say that despite both
candidates' genuflections before AIPAC and
Cromagnon articulations of policies that
would have pleased der Führer, whomever wins
will be able to establish their own agenda
once they're in the White House. Until the
arrival of W, who, when compared to any of
his predecessors is the least capable for the
office, most presidents have bemoaned the
surprizing limitations of the office's power.
Their pictures they soon enough found out
were on the cover of 'Time' precisely because
they didn't have power. The real power people
were way out of sight making lavish deals,
opening doors for their buddies within the
Administration, and scheduling meetings
between heads of state and the arms merchants
who would soon be making the follow up call.
Yet somehow a man of
such—trifling—redeeming social value has
managed to fundamentally change the meaning
of the Constitution that has been declared
the last best hope of mankind
(self-servingly) by those who would rule. "An
ethical man," quipped Mark Twain, "is a
Christian holding 4 aces."
WYSIWYG IS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE
The entity that refers to itself as the
Democratic Party made a bold maneuver two
years ago that is still playing itself out
today. The final results won't be known until
after the election. The gambit is whether the
Dems can insinuate their way into deeper
entrenchment in power by pretending to give a
shit about the vast majority of Americans,
while extorting indescribable amounts of
money from them. If anyone is paying
attention, the democrats' pronouncements
against what they call "wars" in Iraq and
Afghanistan (that are really illegal
occupations) prove quite brittle when they
collide with their actual voting records that
have given W everything he has asked
for—and then some—to prosecute his war
crimes and aggression. The ever resourceful
Congress found the perfect counter for the
President's excesses—the non-binding
resolution. Like shoelaces made of lint,
there is no way to make these ties bind. In
one opportunity after another the Democrats
bent over and took it from the President
until it would be fair to say they put the
K-Y in Democracy—particularly with last
week's nonbinding impeachment hearing.
THE OTHER SHOE
The only imponderable for us now is how the
alleged "vote" turns out. Since the primary
season is grotesquely flawed, the alleged
media who are allowed to control the content
of the alleged debates and to exclude
whomever displeases them from participating,
and to assert lie after lie about Iran's
alleged nuclear weapons program, it is
doubtful that there will be anything in
America resembling a mass rebellion of
millions upon millions of citizens taking to
the streets with pots and pans.
Even if that is precisely what needs to be
done.
