http://live.besttechie.net - IMAP vs POP3 -
which is the better email protocol? Well, it
really depends. I like IMAP because it
allows me to check my email from multiple
locations and leaves a copy of the email on
the server. Tags :besttechieemailencryptionimapjeffpop3protocolstlsweisbein

This is the demo user interface of the
tinymail E-mail client development framework.
It shows the feature "Push E-mail" on an IMAP
server (Cyrus). On IMAP "Push E-mail" can be
done using RFC 2177, or in human wording: the
IMAP IDLE support.
Push E-mail means that the server will notify
the client about changes. It means that the
client must not poll for changes anymore.
Unneccesary such polling can consume
bandwidth. GPRS users often have to pay per
MB consumed. Which is why Push E-mail is an
often requested feature for mobile devices. Tags :IMAPPushE-mailtinymailIDLERFC21772177
