Logan from TigerDirect talks about the HD3870
and 3850 GPUs from ATI. Crysis and Half Life
2 are used as benchmarks.
(Note - It's mostly about the 3870, he only
touches briefly on the 3850) Tags :atiradeonhd3870hd3850tigertvtigerdirectcrysishalflife
After my Asrock 775Dual-VSTA Motherboard
failed I decided to upgrade my graphics card
(XFX nVidia GeForce 7600GT) at the same time.
This is a test of my Sapphire Radeon HD3870
512MB playing the first mission in Rainbow
Six Vegas 2. Here are the rest of my specs:
Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300
Maxtor 250GB IDE Hard Disk
Seagate Barracuda SATA 320GB Hard Disk
2x1GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 RAM
Antec NeoHE 500W PSU
Windows XP SP2
Played on a 17inch LCD Monitor at 1280x1024
with the graphics settings at Medium.
I get a constant 30 FPS when recording with
FRAPS which is a big improvement considering
I used to get under 10 FPS without FRAPS on
with the 7600GT.
Sorry about the level of motion blur but I
didn't realise that it was that noticeable
until I made the video as I was barely aware
of it when on the game. Tags :HD38703870ATIAMDRadeonSapphirerainbowsixvegasr6vr6v2fpsfirstpersonshootercomputervideogamehostagesituationhyperen

Sorry about the occasional flashes of colour
you may see but it is Movie Maker not the
game or FRAPS causing this. Tags :HD38703870ATIAMDRadeonSapphirerainbowsixvegasr6vr6v2fpsfirstpersonshootercomputervideogamehostagesituationhyperen

Call Of Duty 4 on my Sapphire HD3870. runs so
goddam smooth. Even with fraps I get 40+.
Without always 70+ and inside above 100 on
MAX settings @ 1440x900. 4xAA and about 4xAF
I think.
In online mode I get like 50+ FPS on the same
settings and that's dam smooth =D
You can see the settings @ the end off the
video to be sure i'm not lying to you.
