| "Saturn 5!"(old version) |
 |
Here is the original video which had been
submitted for the 08' National Scholastics
Awards. It is not the final animation, which
can been viewed on YouTube titled "Saturn V!:
The Epic Journey."
This is the highly acclaimed flash animation
that was started since November of 2006.
Since then it has evolved from a simple
17-second test in graphics class to a full
production which ended up lasting nearly two
years. Around December of 2007 however, it
was temporarily rushed and prepared at a
point which had seemed to be the end. This
resulting product came to be known as the old
original, "Saturn 5!"
The video depicts NASA's Apollo Program at
its peak in 1969 when mankind first set foot
on the moon. But at the same time on another
note, this also reflects upon the
magnificence, daring, and precision beauty
that was required in order to make the epic
journey that without, would never have been
made possible.
Around spring of 2008, "Saturn 5!" won a
National Gold Key award for animation. It has
also been shown throughout Bak Msoa in the
Communications Department Showcase of 07' and
08'. In the 2007 showcase, only the first two
minutes of this video was even made but by
the end of the 2008 school year, the
animation was done and shown in the 08'
showcase as "Saturn V!: The Epic Journey."
Special thanks goes to everyone who supported
this animation including Ms.Sharp, the Visual
Arts and Communications Department, and of
course the Bak Msoa student body. Additional
credit goes to James Horner's "Apollo 13" for
the music. Comments are kindly welcome.
