MANCHESTER, England — Manchester City beat
Chelsea to signing Brazil striker Robinho by
agreeing to pay Real Madrid a British-record
32.5 million-pound (C$62-million) transfer
fee on Monday.
Robinho had repeatedly spoken of his desire
to leave the Spanish champion for Chelsea,
but City, boosted by a windfall from an
imminent takeover by a United Arab Emirates
business group, made a huge offer for the
24-year-old forward. And This Compilation

Robinho played his first La Liga game on
August 28, 2005 in a 2-1 win against Cádiz
CF, coming on as a 65th-minute replacement
for Thomas Gravesen. He ended up making 37
appearances and scored eight goals in his
first season.
At the start of the 2006-07 campaign, Robinho
fell out of favour with new manager Fabio
Capello, and he spent much of the first few
months of the season on the bench. Only after
the winter break did Robinho find himself in
the starting eleven.
Robinho was given permission by FIFA to skip
a Copa América training session with Brazil
so he could take part in Madrid's season
finale against Mallorca on June 18, 2007,
which they won 3-1 and in the process claimed
their thirtieth league title, which was also
the third of Robinho's career. He contributed
eleven goals and fourteen assists for Madrid
in the 2007-08 La Liga season. On the 22nd
August, 2008, Robinho for the first time
announced his intention to leave Real Madrid
for Chelsea before the August 31st transfer
deadline in an Interview with Spanish sports
paper Marca. Calderon has since stated that
Robinho will have to terminate his contract
if he wants to leave and face the subsequent
court action. Tags : Robinho To Manchester City Signs For Man De Souza 07/08 08/09 skills trick brazil real madrid panna akka hocus pocus |
