TOY KILLERS - "THE UNLISTENABLE YEARS" CD
ON ugEXPLODE Records
http://nowave.pair.com/ugexplode
more than an hour of previously unheard
studio and live material circa '80-'84 by
this incendiary group of malcontents led by
madmen drummers Mark E. Miller and Charles K.
Noyes. the destructive duo is probably best
known for their tandem appearances on classic
early albums by John Zorn ("Pool"), Elliott
Sharp ("Carbon") and Material ("Live From
Soundscape 1981") but now their own
cacophonous story can finally be told!!!
Beginning as a pyromaniac noise duo, moving
through DNA-on-crack no-wave power trio
succinctness, early Material-esque avant-funk
and beyond Miller and Noyes were joined by a
who's-who of downtown NYC musicians. this
release features great performances by Zorn,
Sharp, Arto Lindsay, Bill Laswell, Wayne
Horvitz, Michael Beinhorn, the late Paul
burwell, Thi-Linh Le, Nicky Skopelitis and
liner notes by Anton Fier and Weasel Walter.
Painstakingly edited and remixed from hours
of raw tapes by Weasel Walter, this CD is a
definitive statement of the early period of a
band that never got its due. Keep on the
lookout for brand new Toy Killers material in
2009 feat. Miller, Noyes, Walter, Henry
Kaiser and more! the extremity will never
cease!!! | ZAKK WYLDE Interview pt4Ep44 KASR VIDEO |
 |
The incredible Zakk Wylde stops by with his
guitar to the MetalWorks radio show and have
a few beers with Bobby Diablo and Manic Mike.
Kasrvnotebook: On January 17, 2006, Zakk
Wylde was immortalized at the Hollywood Rock
Walk of Fame located at 7425 Sunset Blvd,
featuring his hand prints and signature, in
recognition to his successful career as a
musician and contribution to music industry.
The event was open to the public and many
rock celebrities were present, including
Osbourne.
Ozzy Osbourne was auditioning new guitarists
for future material in 2005/2006 but
announced Wylde as the official guitarist for
his new album as a follow-up to his last
studio release, "Down To Earth".
Black Label Society's new album, "Shot To
Hell", was released on September 11th (UK),
12th (US) through Roadrunner records with
production by Michael Beinhorn (Soundgarden,
Ozzy Osbourne, Red Hot Chili Peppers). Black
Label Society headlined the 2nd stage at the
2006 Ozzfest, with Wylde playing double duty
with Ozzy on certain dates. Ozzy's new album,
Black Rain, was released in May 2007. Zakk is
currently working a new film called The
Berserkers, with Zakk taking on
responsibilities for script and production.

"Don't expect a lot from this show." Was the
unofficial motto of KASR VIDEO, which made a
pleasant surprise when we actually knocked
out a great show! The program was a weekly 2
hour public access offshoot of the Arizona
State University's original alternative radio
station that aired in Phoenix. The music
video show featured rarely seen videos and
"new" music not in the "main stream." Along
with non-conventional interviews it became a
decent way to nurse a hangover with the
midnight party crowd. These clips are edited
as a sort of best of; minus the music videos.

| Ginger Sling EPK - Power Pop |
 |
Ginger has been playing in bands and writing
songs since her freshman year in High School.
So when Spring rolled around in 2004 Ginger
decided it was time to start her own band and
called it Ginger Sling.
Before Ginger Sling began, Ginger was in a
band called the Halo Friendlies. The
Friendlies accomplished many things that
bands only dream of. They toured the United
States many times over on the Vans Warped
Tour and toured with such bands as Good
Charlotte and Funeral for a Friend. With the
Halos, Ginger has toured the UK five times
and has done two USO tours after 9/11 playing
shows in Bosnia, Kosovo and Germany. The Halo
Friendlies released an album for EMI's Tooth
and Nail Records and recorded a song for the
Freaky Friday Soundtrack in 2003. They also
received a gold record for the sale of over
500,000 copies of the Soundtrack. From
2001-2002 Ginger was also the bass player for
the band Lo Ball where she had the
opportunity to work with John Porter (The
Smiths, Morrissey) and Michael Beinhorn
(Hole, Soundgarden). She has also performed
live with producer Linda Perry and fellow
solo artist Sierra Swan.
Throughout 2004-2006, Ginger has recorded her
own music and released a 5 song EP called
"The Room" and has released a group of demos
called the "Laguna Beach Demos". Her total
download sales exceed the 12,000 mark and
continue to sell through iTunes and most
every digital music store online. Her music
has been featured on MTV's "The Real World",
"Making the Band", "Pimp My Ride", "Meet the
Barkers" and "Laguna Beach". She also
recorded a song for the Disney feature film,
"Sky High" that was released in theaters in
the US in July of 2005. Her cover of the
song, "Can't Stop the World" is featured on
the Soundtrack.
Ginger Sling's own music is powerful, melodic
and full of pop and rock sensibilities. Her
main influences are the Beatles, Elvis
Costello, Superdrag and Elliott Smith. Ginger
Sling, named after a lyric in the Beatles'
song "Savoy Truffle," is backed by a rocking
band with herself on bass. Ginger loves to
write songs but also loves to play live. She
performs regularly around Southern California
and has performed on the Vans Warped Tour.
Keep an eye out for when she comes to your
town. You won't want to miss it.
Ginger is sponsored by Fender USA, Dunlop
Manufacturing, Hurley Clothing, Paul Frank
and Vestal apparel.

| "My Best Friend" |
 |
Throughout his career, Brian has had many
opportunities to showcase his vocal and dance
talents, both in amateur and professional
venues, and encompassing a variety of genres
including Broadway, big band and country,
just to name a few. Now he is taking that
talent one step further by pursuing his
ambition of becoming a songwriter/performer
in the music industry.
To achieve this goal, he has been formally
studying guitar for the past 3 years and
voice for 15 years with professional
instructors, both locally and with
world-renowned coaches who have worked with
many current hit artists such as Debbie
Beinhorn from Nashville, TN who's clients
include Clint Black, Pam Tillis, and Faith
Hill to name a few and Mark Baxter from New
York City who's clients include Steven Tyler
(Aerosmith), Steven Augeri (Journey), and
Jonny Lang! He is a member of the Nashville
Songwriters Association International (NSAI)
and recently attended the week-long
"Songposium 2007" in Nashville, TN to study
various topics with hit songwriters from the
industry which included Brian White
("Watching You" by Rodney Atkins), Jeffrey
Steele ("What Hurts the Most", "Me and My
Gang" by Rascal Flatts), Brett James ("Jesus
Take the Wheel" by Carrie Underwood), and
many other hit song writers!
He has recorded some of his songs on a demo
CD and one of them, "My Best Friend", won an
award for best new up-and-coming writers in
Nashville. Another song, "Hold Me Close While
We Dance", was picked up by a publisher in
Alabama and made the final cut to be included
on a promotional CD for new songwriters. It
is currently being played on radio markets
throughout the southeast.
Though Brian has had the chance to perform
his songs for local audiences, he will soon
be showcasing his talent in a larger arena.
He has been invited to perform at the Alabama
Music Hall of Fame in June 2008 for an
audience of music industry professionals
including recording artists and publishers.
Hopefully this will be only the beginning of
a successful music career and the achievement
of a lifelong dream! Tags : country indie rock folk blues tv performing arts advertising trailer community random personals visual documentary |
