At the 2008 Photo Imaging Expo held in Tokyo,
Kodak and Kaga Hightech displayed two of its
newest demonstration prototypes from Kodak's
Easy Share series: a digital camera and a
photo frame.
The Easy Share M763 is a digital camera
equipped with new functions that utilize the
latest technology and is already being sold
in the United States. Easy Share M763 will be
released in mid-June in Japan in both black
and silver.
The Easy Share Digital Picture Frame SV is a
picture frame that uses Kodak's own surface
processing technology for a vivid display and
is available with either a 7-inch or 10-inch
liquid crystal display.

Kaga Hitech has released the Kodak ELiTe
Vision KTEL-30W, a 3-inch wide portable
One-Seg TV with an OLED display panel.
With a lightweight, ultra-thin body that is
only 8 mm thick, the new portable TV is easy
to carry, and the organic EL display panel
faithfully reproduces subtle color
differences with a high contrast ratio.
Unlike the One-Seg function in cell phones,
this product has a viewing angle of nearly
180 degrees, making it possible for users to
watch bright, clear broadcast programs
without any problems.
The newly adopted organic EL display panel
utilizes Kodak's Global Mura Compensation
(GMC) technology as well as high performance
luminescence material to achieve evenness and
superior color uniformity.
The Kodak ELiTe Vision allows continuous
viewing for up to 3.5 hours and weighs only
64 grams, making it the lightest One-Seg TV
available today.
The new portable TV can be purchased through
the Shopping Kodak on-line store for 29,800
yen.

In addition to displaying photo's the M1020
10-inch frame can also play videos and MP3's,
have two memory card slots and has Kodak's
quick touch border with back lighting.
Kodak's Quick Touch Border with back lighting
helps users in viewing and scrolling digital
photos. It prevents the main display from
getting smudged by the user's finger. To make
it even easier to navigate through the
photos, the digital photo frame touch panel
is equipped with yellow lighting illuminates
to tell users which part of the digital frame
to touch. The digital frames also allow users
to create, edit and view the photos in
slideshows. Viewing photos using the M1020
digital frame is easily done just by
inserting a memory card or USB flash drive
containing your photos. For photos residing
on your PC, the frames can be connected using
a USB cable. You can use the Kodak EasyShare
software to download and upload photos from
your PCs to the frames. You can also create
photo slideshows in your computer then upload
it to the frame for viewing later on.

The Kodak EasyShare M1033 combines a ten
megapixel CCD imager and a Kodak-branded 3x
zoom lens with a 35 - 105mm equivalent focal
range. For framing images, the Kodak M1033
has a large, 3.0-inch 230K pixel LCD display,
but no optical viewfinder - an increasingly
rare option these days and one that would add
a good degree of versatility, letting you get
the shot when you can't make out the LCD in
bright sunlight, or save battery life by
disabling the LCD when accurate framing isn't
vital. Images are stored on Secure Digital /
MultiMediaCards including SDHC types, or in
32MB of available internal memory.

I just got this new camera. I was a little
worried because the LCD screen appeared
grainy (though Kodak calls it NOISE) and I
know I did one video before it was terribly
grainy but there are going to be times when
the camera is going to do that due to
interference of some sort (lighting,
stabilization, etc). But this appears to be
better (at least in the quicktime format, I
converted it to flash to reduce the size, so
it wouldn't take forever to upload on here).
My one complaint is the automatic focus is a
little noisy, but I know if I play around
with the settings, maybe change it to manual,
there might be a change, who knows. This
might be my new vlog camera, who knows!
